LifeBeam (lifebeam.pro) is a personal blog operated by Elliot, an individual writer based in Singapore. The site publishes first-person writing about daily life, place, and observation. 2. Scope of this policy
This privacy policy applies to all pages served from the lifebeam.pro domain, including static pages, journal entries, the contact form, and associated assets such as stylesheets and scripts. It does not apply to third-party websites you may reach through external links.

LifeBeam is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. The categories of data that may be processed include:
- Contact form submissions: When you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, subject line, and message text. This data is sent by email to the site operator and is used solely to read and respond to your enquiry.
- Cookie preferences: If you interact with the cookie banner, your choice (accept, reject, or custom preferences) is stored in your browser's local storage under the key
lifebeam_cookie_consent. This is not transmitted to a server. - Server logs: Like most websites, the hosting server may automatically record standard access logs including IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. I do not use these logs for profiling or marketing.
4. What I do not collect
LifeBeam does not require user accounts, does not operate a newsletter signup, and does not sell personal data to third parties. I do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as government identification numbers, financial details, or health information through this site.
5. Cookies and local storage
This site uses a cookie consent banner that offers three options: Accept, Reject, and Customise. Essential functionality stores your preference locally so the banner does not reappear on every visit. If you choose Customise and enable analytics cookies, any analytics tool configured in the future would respect that choice — at present, no third-party analytics scripts are loaded regardless of your selection.
You can clear stored preferences at any time by removing site data for lifebeam.pro in your browser settings. Doing so will cause the cookie banner to appear again on your next visit.
6. Legal basis for processing
Contact form data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest — specifically, the interest in responding to messages sent to me. Cookie preference data is processed based on your consent, which you provide through the banner controls. Server log data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in maintaining site security and diagnosing technical faults.

Contact form messages are retained in my email inbox for as long as needed to correspond with you and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping. I review and delete old correspondence periodically. Server logs are retained according to the hosting provider's default retention schedule, typically no longer than ninety days unless required for a security investigation.
8. Third-party services
LifeBeam loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these resources, Google may receive your IP address and basic request metadata. Refer to Google's privacy policy for details on their data practices. Images on this site are self-hosted and are not loaded from external CDNs.
9. Data sharing
I do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms. Contact form submissions are delivered by email and are accessible only to me. If legally compelled by a court order or applicable Singapore law, I may disclose data to the extent required — though given the minimal data collected, such circumstances are unlikely.

I take reasonable steps to protect data handled through this site, including using HTTPS where supported by the hosting environment and keeping software updated. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security of data you submit through the contact form.
11. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data I hold about you.
